WSOR Referees |
The Warwickshire Society of Referees has built up an enviable reputation as one of the leading referees' societies in the country, with match officials officiating at all levels of the game from mini-midi to Zurich Premiership.
Established in 1895, the Society recruits, trains and appoints referees to schools and clubs throughout Warwickshire, which, of course, is the birthplace of the game. It was at Rugby School when William Webb Ellis famously picked up the ball and ran with it during a game of soccer, that it all began.
To referee at The Close - the playing fields at Rugby School - is regarded as a great honour and is always on the agenda when visiting referees, on exchange from overseas Unions, come into the County to further their careers
